Chamomile is renowned due to chamomile tea that has gained gigantic popularity in modern times. However, it is famous among people since ancient times for its pleasing, refreshing and health benefits.

Matter of fact the chamomile tea originally is not a tea. It is a tisane i.e. herbal tea or extracts, which is prepared by either infusion or decoction. Chamomile extract is a hot infusion of chamomile flowers.

To get rid of dry, rough and itchy skin, use chamomile’s face pack:

  • Take half cup chamomile extract.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel in it.
  • Mix well and apply onto face.
  • Keep the pack for about 20 minutes
  • Rinse the face with lukewarm water and apply ultra-hydrating moisturizer afterwards.

For inflammation

Being enriched with chamazulene and apigenin, chamomile extract exhibits potential anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Prepare strong chamomile tea, cool it down and rub on the affected area.
  • Else, take a washcloth, dip in extract and apply on the affected area for about 15 minutes.
  • The remaining extract can be stored at a cool place.

For acne and breakouts

  • Take out and collect an adequate mixture of chamomile tea bag.
  • Add enough water in a chamomile content.
  • Make smooth paste of the mixture using a blender.
  • Apply the mixture onto acne

You can use direct chamomile extract as well. For this:

  • Steep about two chamomile tea bag in a cup of boiled water.
  • Leave this for 15 minutes.
  • Afterwards, cool it down and apply the extract on affected area using cotton ball.

For acne scars

  • Take used chamomile tea bags.
  • Chill the bags and keep onto the affected area and press lightly against skin.
  • Wash your face with cool chamomile tea instead of water for some days.
  • You can also rub extract over the acne scars and leave as it.

For fine lines and wrinkles

Chamomile tea or extract effectively used from ancient times by Greeks, Romans and Egyptians for wound healing. It helps in cell regeneration. This feature of this flower also helps to fade fine lines and wrinkles.

  • Steep chamomile flowers in boiling water for about 20 minutes.
  • Afterwards, store the extract in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Apply two times a day and followed by potent anti-aging cream

For dandruff

  • For this, first rinse your hair using the best anti-dandruff shampoo.
  • Apply a nourishing conditioner.
  • End the process by rinsing your hair with cold chamomile tea.

For shiny and lustrous hair

Take half cup of chamomile flowers, 2 cups filtered water, half teaspoon vitamin E oil and jojoba oil.

  • Boil the water and add chamomile flowers afterwards.
  • Steep for about 30 minutes.
  • Strain, collect and store the extract in a bowl.
  • Add oils and transfer the mixture into spray bottle.
  • Spray onto damp hair and comb through hair.

For adding highlights

Chamomiles contain a pigment apigenin, which imparts color to the hair. There are two main varieties of chamomile flowers. One is German and the other is Roman chamomile. The German chamomile extract (Chamomilla recutita) contains pigment in higher concentrations.

To prepare the mixture you need strong chamomile tea prepared by mixing 1 tablespoon of dried flower in 11/2 cups of water for about 15 minutes. Add 1 teaspoon of lime or lemon peel in the tea while preparation. After preparation, you can add a teaspoon of coconut oil in it as well. Now cool down the mixture and pour the prepared mixture into the spray bottle.

  • You can massage the wet hair using this infusion. Leave for about 15 minutes and rinse your hair afterwards.
  • Else, you can spray the infusion onto the hair after rinsing and leave on.
