Top 9 essential methods to make your skin moisturized

Skin is the major barrier that protects the underlying organs and tissues from chemicals, desiccation, mechanical stress, and infections.

However, the constant fighting against environmental aggressors and improper care can disrupt and damage the body's most important organ, the skin.

The very first characteristic of damaged skin is dryness and dullness. Skin starts losing its integrity, transepidermal water, and skin lipids. This can be highly hazardous because of risks like skin aging, dermatitis, and xerosis.

That is why moisturizing the skin is an essential aspect for all skin types whether dry, oily, sensitive or combination skin. But, how to moisturize the skin?

# Ultra-hydrating moisturizers is a necessity

Moisturizers are the fuel of the skin. To fulfil the 4 basic necessities of the skin i.e. improved skin hydration, enhanced optical appearance, improved soft and smooth skin, and restored the skin from the deep, moisturizer is must.

Derma Essentia Hydrating Moisturizer with effective skin-friendly and natural ingredients can own up these qualities. To repair skin from the deep along with long-lasting moisturization, such types of moisturizers are a boon.

Embedded with intense moisturizing formula, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, ceramides, aloe vera, and many herbal extracts, the ultra-hydrating moisturizers significantly reduces the transepidermal water loss, improves skin collagen, retain and hold the water, keep skin hydrated and this way it treat dry skin.  So always apply moisturizer to keep skin healthy.

# Don't forget broad-spectrum sunscreen

The application of sunscreen is also very essential to keep skin moisturized. Why?

The broad-spectrum sunscreens protect skin from harmful UV rays emitting from the sun. In the absence of an effective sunscreen, these rays can penetrate and damage the skin. Dryness is one of the major symptoms of UV induced skin damage. Therefore, must apply a layer of sunscreen beneath the moisturizer.

# Sleep with moisturized skin

A night time skin care routine is really essential to follow. Always wash off your face to get rid of dirt and grime. Afterwards, must apply one of these skincare products on to the skin: moisturizing lotion, aloe vera gel, vitamin C face serums, or simply a mixture of glycerin and rose water.

Also, if you really are not in the mood to apply any market formulated product on to your face in the night. Then go for homemade moisturizers.

# Limit your showers

Don't bath again and again. Do it once daily or twice if you really want to have it. But, make sure to restrict your shower time or body washes. Because excess contact of water and skin also cause dryness.

Also don’t take hot showers too much as it removes the natural oils present in the skin.

# Choose gentle cleansing products

Cleansing skin is an important aspect to keep dirt, grime, and infections away. But, it doesn't mean you need to use harsh cleaning products. Always go for gentle and hydrating cleansing products. Also, don't use luffa, sponges, or scrub brushes harshly.

# Use humidifier

In the days of extreme winters, when room moisture is also near zero, go for room humidifiers. Set these around 60% or at a level where these can provide enough moisture to keep your skin moisturized.

# Mid-day sprays

In the times, when you feel your skin is a little dry, go for hydrating sprays. It can simply be a rosewater spray as well. Such water-based sprays will help to keep your skin hydrated.

# Moisturizing masks

With all the above-mentioned steps, you can also try moisturizing masks once or twice a week. It will significantly help you to get long-lasting deep moisturized and hydrated skin.

Intense moisturizing mask:

This mix contains extensive hydrating moisturizing ingredients that keep your skin immensely smooth and soft.

  • For this, 1 tablespoon of shea butter into 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Mix the ingredients well and add 1 tablespoon of aloe vera in it. Stir well and apply onto the skin. Keep for 15-20 minutes and wash with lukewarm water.
