How to cure dry skin on face overnight?

Starting the day with a cleansing face followed by application of broad-spectrum sunscreen and moisturizer, especially before going out, is the favourite routine of many people to protect their skin from dull and dryness.

Dry skin is one of the most irritating and troubling skin problems. It disfigures skin with traits like dullness, arid, and unhealthy structural configuration.

Sometimes, only following a wholesome morning skincare routine found to be not enough to tackle dry skin and association issues. Proper night skincare routine is as important as the morning ritual.

However, only incorporating night dry skincare ritual in daily lifestyle is not enough to get rid of arid skin. It demands perfection and a proper sequence is also essential.

Let's watch out, how to cure dry skin on face overnight?

#1. Cleansing face with hydrating face wash

The very first step of a night dry skincare routine is to cleanse the face to remove all-day dirt or dead skin cells. But here comes the twist.

Face wash or cleanser plays a very essential role in skincare. It is specific for every skin type. A sebum controlling cleanser cannot suit over dry skin. Inversely, such face washes can cause further dryness and make the skin prone to irritation and inflammation.

For dry skin, a Hydrating face wash is a perfect option. With good cleansing action, the face wash also embossed with the name of ingredients like hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, glycolic acid, papaya extracts, and plant extracts. These ingredients help to adorn the skin with a layer of adequate moisture and prevent it from drying.

#2. Do mild skin exfoliation

To get rid of left dead skin cells, whiteheads or blackheads, follow this step after washing the face. Do it on alternative days to prevent its excessive usage.

You can do your exfoliation with home ingredients:

  • Rice Flour + Milk Scrub

You need: 1 teaspoon rice flour, 2 teaspoons milk

Mix the ingredients, scrub the face, and leave for 5 minutes. Afterward, wash out with normal water.

Role of ingredients:

Rice flour is a bit coarse in texture, thereby providing good exfoliation action. But along with such texture rice flour also exhibits soothing properties. Milk also provides significant anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. All together this scrub left out soft skin after a good exfoliation.

  • Coconut Oil + Sugar Scrub

Take in the ratio 1:1 or 1:2 granulated sugar and coconut oil. Mix it well and your scrub is prepared. Scrub and wash out with lukewarm water.

Role of ingredients:

The combination of sugar and coconut oil also works well to scrub the skin which is dry in nature. One side, where the coarse texture of sugar does good exfoliation, on the other side, coconut oil prevents skin from drying and inflammation. Your skin gets scrubbed and you don't even get the rough texture.

#3. Apply facial mist or aloe vera gel

Go for a light hydrating product after exfoliation. Avoid astringent products. You can either apply simply rose water or can go for aloe vera gel.

For aloe vera gel: take an adequate quantity of gel, massage onto skin for some time. Leave it for about 5-10 minutes and wash the face with normal water afterwards.

#4. Apply vitamin C serum

Application of vitamin C serum can help to repair your UV induced damaged skin. It stimulates collagen production, reduces oxidative stress, and makes skin healthy.

However, if your skin is extremely dry and gets inflamed or irritated easily, consult your dermatologist before using vitamin C serum.

#5(A). Ultra-hydrating moisturizer

The last step of your night skincare routine is to apply ultra-hydrating moisturizer. Let your serum set for about 5 minutes and apply the moisturizer. These types of moisturizers are embedded with potent ingredients that moisten and hydrate your skin from the deep and fora very long time.

Regular use of such products will always keep your skin away from dullness and arid skin texture. Read here, to know more about ultra-hydrating face wash.

#5(B). Natural oils

You can also complete your last stop of the night skincare routine with the use of natural oils. It is entirely optional and can be used instead of the application of moisturizer or cream.

To moisturize the extremely dry skin from the deep, some of the natural oils play a significant role. These natural oils are argan oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, and many more.
